Pastor Jeff and Karen Walthall

Pastor Jeff Walthall was born in Lynchburg, Virginia.  Music was a large part of his childhood; several members of his family sang and played multiple instruments.  As a result, music became one of his passions and he got involved in the music program of his local church at an early age.  In High School, he excelled in both academics and extra-curricular activities and was chosen to participate in the Virginia All-State Choir.  After high school, Pastor Jeff attended the University of Virginia (UVA) on an Engineering Student Scholarship.  While at UVA he assumed the role of Music Director for the University's 150 voice gospel choir.

After graduation in 1996, Pastor Jeff moved to Northern Virginia and began working in the Software Engineering industry.  He met Pastor Chester Mitchell in the Fall of the 1997 and became a part of the Capital Community Church Family.  Through the years, Pastor Jeff whole-heartedly participated in the CCC music program where he assumed the roles of both Worship Leader and Assistant Music Director.  In 2009, Pastor Jeff began leading the CCC Music department.  His vision for the CCC music ministry is to have a music program that is relevant to the culture of the church and continually enables the church body to connect with God through an incredible worship experience.

While at the University of Virginia, Pastor Jeff met his wife, Karen, who was also pursuing a degree in Engineering.  In May of 1998, Pastor Jeff and Karen were married.  In 2003, they welcomed their first child, Collin Jeffery, and in 2006, they welcomed their second child, Shiya Brielle.  In their spare time, they enjoy relaxing and spending time with family and friends.
